Have started tuning yesterday.

Unfortunately I can only get about 10 lbs of boost at WOT. I can build 6 lbs of boost against the brake at take off. This is going off of the dash digital boost gauge.

Since I put the adj FPR on and increased the pressure 42lbs line off, there seems to be a significant lack of power. All the readings from my friends OTC 4000 are in the normal ranges. It wont even spin the tires?? Won't even powerbrake now?? Since adding pressure to the rail the knock has significantly diminished. At the same time, watching the FP gauge while driving it only goes up to 44lbs while driving??

I don't have a boost agauge installed yet, it is next on my list. I also swapped out the Spark Control Module I think it is called, the thing on the pass side fender, gonna switch it back to see if there is any difference.

When I first got the car the boost gauge would go all the over into the red, now only half way? Any ideas or thought would be appreciated. TIA

Your stock boost gauge is useless. You fuel pressure will go up with your boost. Hard to say how much boost you are making using the stock boost gauge. When you use the OTC 4000 what are your 02 volts at full throttle between 50 - 80 mph? Don't do this if your getting knock though. Your shoting for .78 to .82 volts at WOT.

Do you have any exhaust leaks? Vacuum leaks? What gauges do you have? You need absolutly need a boost gauge before you do anymore tuning. What mods do you have? -Nick.

problems continued

Well I believe the problem lies with the injectors. A friend came over to help me out yesterday and they "leakdown" from 42 to 5 psi in less than 20 minutes. I assume this means I need to just swap them out. What is the stock lb size? What size can I go up to with the stock turbo? I am in the Army and I have a part time job as well, my spending is limited to about 1/4 of my part time income. About $200 every two weeks, so the mods are coming in phases.

My O2 volts were fluctuating between .60-.90, gauges are next on my list. Mods are in my signature.

28 lbs. are stockers. I am not sure how high you can go with a stock turbo. I am assuming it would matter as long as your chip is burnt to handle the injectors. Just remember you will have to get a new chip if you go bigger then stock injectors. -Nick.
