Man the twin cities has to have a VP dealer or race gas dealer that has Methanol
I thought about it and did some research. From what I found the octane in meth is 107 compared to alky's 113. It's also much more corrosive. I'm using the old SMC kit where you have to put lube in the bottle so I really don't want to switch to something even more corrosive. If it could just get it back down to 9-10 bucks a gallon that would be good enough. There are VP fuels distributors that sell meth and race gas, but do you think they'd be able to get alky? I figure'd I'd have to find some paint supply store that is willing to order it for me.
I have seen various quotes on the octane of those fuels. One reads it as 116 ethanol vs. 113 methanol. Not that much of a difference.
The only fuel I saw with a 107 octane was methane......which, as we all know, is just a fart.

you can add the lube to the meth plus you can get the smell you like, cherry, or grape. @ 3- 4 dollars a gallon vs 15. it wouldn't take long to pay for a new pump that would work with meth. Once you go with meth you will never go back 
Before I switched to meth, I talked with the managers, at local paint stores and hardware stores, most of the time they would give me a break on the price. A paint store might be able to buy in 5 gal cans.

Found a regional paint supply store, Hirschfields, that sells alky for $11.89 a gallon and also sells it by the 5gal for $55, which makes it slightly cheaper. Sherwin-Williams want's over $18 a gallon! So to all looking for cheaper alky, try a local paint store chain.

If you can find a furniture refinisher with an account, it's about $8 a gallon in a 5 gallon pail. 
Sherwin Williams has good paint and stains, but for some reason their chemicals are overpriced even with an account.
Gonna try industrial suppliers someday myself, my new boss said he'd let me use the company name, but I need to find a local supplier, shipping is way too expensive.
Some places on the internet have it under $40 for a 5 gallon pail, none local to me however.

Just found a paint store that has denatured for 11.52 a gallon. Going to give them a call and see if they can order me a larger quantity and if it will be cheaper going that route.
