I have V 3.0 and the sampling is very slow. Is there any way to get faster sampling? As it is now, I get about one data point every 1.5 seconds.

I don't think the sampling can be any faster as you are reading from the ALDL...The only thing that will read faster is DirectScan, which reads straight off of the ecm circuit board, and *I think* ScanMaster with the fast update option with chips that are burned that have the fast update patch built into them...

If it can't be done now, maybe it is a good idea to make an upgrade that can read faster (any TurboLink guys listening?!?!?!)!!!! As it is now, even with the nice windows, I'm thinking of buying a different scan tool because TurboLink is not as fast as I would like.

The sampling rate is the function of the ECM ... not TurboLink. We've got a version in prototype right now that talks to a P4 equipped car (happens to be my kid's Grand Am) at about 12 frames/sec.

That said, make sure you have v3.02 (It should say 3.0.2 when the splash screen comes up). There was a bug in the early versions that affected display rate ... it was too aggressive in filtering "noise".


Also ... TurboLink WILL READ THE SCANMASTER FAST DATA STREAM. It's already part of the software.

One final point, easiest way to get "TurboLink guys to listen" is to TALK TO US! :) Posting here is a good way to get lost in all the other traffic. We have set up a dedicated support site at:

Turbolink

I have turbolink and I really like it.The purpose of this thread is to say how lucky we are to have someone like Ken to help when we are stuck.I have never met him in person but he has been invaluable in helping me whenever I have had a problem.I know of no other company with such dedication.Bruce
 
Right on Bruce!!! That is one of the things that I love about having a TR. A lot of good people to help you out and not to be cliché, but the Buick community is like a big family.

Go to the support forum (http://www.turbo-link.com) and then go to the UPGRADES section of the BBS.

Instructions are included as part of that section ...

We have an update patch we are going to put out there today for v3.0.2 (minor change for a few folks that have a certain video card refresh issue), so you might want to wait until tomorrow...
