Getting ready to install an ductile roller cam from full throttle, and wanted to know what you guys are doing to check the end play on the camshaft. I have heard some saying to shim it until it has no play and then take one of the thin shims out (sounds reasonable) what is the end clearance supposed to be?

While I'm at it, what should the lifter preload supposed to be on the morel lifters?

didn't see any in the box

edit: cam instructions say .030" lifter preload +/- .010"

looks like they suggest .005"-.010" endplay

I love that the comp instructions say you can estimate the endplay if your timing cover doesn't have an access hole on a chevy engine (similar scenario to a buick) I guess I'll have to say I'm smart enough to figure it out lol

There should be but it's not that hard if you have the tools.
My7 friend went thru a top oil drain hole to apply pressure to cam & measured with a dial indicator or remove rear frost plug method. I have seen it done but never done one myself. Other can take you thru the steps needed. I think its about 7 thous but not sure??
