So I am at the point of installing my front cover and Cam sensor, I have read the write up on the VORTEX site, but I am still confused on what exactly I am putting the other mark on with the 1.45" 2nd mark.

Vortex Turbo Buick Performance

Take a piece of masking tape and make two marks 1.45" apart.
Go to the harmonic balancer and position one mark on the top dead center notch with the other mark positioned counterclockwise from the first. This corresponds to 25 degrees ATDC. Make a mark on the balancer at this point.
Turn the crankshaft on clockwise until this mark lines up with the pointer. Note, it is important that the crank is on Top Dead Center and then 25 degrees past TDC. Remember that the cam turns at half the speed of the crankshaft and merely turning the crank until the point lines up with the pointer only assures you a 50% chance of being correctly on the 25 deg TDC mark. TDC is found when the notch on the balancer lines up with the timing pointer on the cover and both valves on cylinder # 1 are closed. In order to not have to pull the valve cover, I remove the spark plug and start turning the crank clockwise until I feel a puff of air come out the plug hole. This will be the compression stroke and I then continue turning the crank until I reach the 25 ATDC point. If you don't get this right, you will not like the way it runs as it will be spraying fuel 180 degs out of phase.

I went to Sears, Autozone, Advanced Auto, no one has a degree wheel. :(

My engine is sitting at TDC, a brand new double roller on it, now I just need to get past this hump and zip it all back up. I'm just not visualizing how I do the whole mark thing. Thanks in advance, you ain't let me down yet!

measure out counterclockwise from top dead center mark on your balancer and and make a mark now that is your 25 degree mark. then turn your balancer so that the second mark is on zero or top dead center on your plastic timing piece then set your cam sensor as said

What they are saying is the cam sensor is set at 25* after top dead center. That equals 1.45" past the 0* mark on your damper. You put 2 lines on a piece of tape 1.45" apart. Lay the tape on the outer diameter of the balancer with one of the lines exactly over the 0* mark on the balancer with the other line pointed towards the passanger side looking from the top. If you are looking from the bottom, then the line will be towards the drivers side. Once you find top dead center using the 0*mark on the damper, you continue to rotate the crankshaft clockwise until the second line on the tape lines up with the 0* mark on the plastic timing tab to set the cam sensor.

Would this be right?

be sure its at TDC compression
a simpler method to mark the balancer is to use a straight edge razor blade as the ruler , its the perfect length just hold it to the left(counterclockwise) of the TDC mark on balancer and make a new mark
this new mark equates to 25* and counterclocwise puts it ATDC , just rotate balancer clocwise until the new mark is at zero on the timing indicator
set the cam sensor per instructions and tighten it down

So like this?

Mark the two lines on the tape before you stick it around the outside of the balancer.
