Cam Sensor Noise

My cam sensor makes a ton of noise, even after things warm up. Other than being annoying, should I be concerned to fix it soon?

If you are convinced that it is the cam sensor making noise; I'd plan on replacing it it the near future. Some people can shim them up to eliminate the noise, but others yet feel that this is merely a band-aid repair. The good news is that these are once again readily available at GM or maybe even gmpartsdirect.com has 'em again too. Buy the entire assembly when asked by the parts guy, not just the cap and harness.

Oh yeah, it's the cam sensor. I did the screwdriver/ear test in many locations and the cam sensor is the only abuser.

I'm just curious if it will "take something else out" if it fails.
