who makes the best cams for a GN, and what is the best type for a daily driver but will result in the most horsepower gain?

I talked to dynotech and i didn't get a straight answer about the cams in my motor. Plus they said the place that made the motor just puts a cam in it that they have there. So that is made me think of putting a cam in the car that atleast i will know what it is in there.

thanks

Scott

Comp 206-206... Lunati 200-200... Or I know alot of guys are having really good luck with an off the shelf 204-214.. I think they are all good cams.. If you have a tone of $$ and 5hp, ,matters go with a roller.;)
good luck,
Matt:cool:

Thanks for the info, does any1 know the type of cam that Precision TE sells. And i was thinking about ordering a chip for them also.

I heard people have been having problems with PT 50 series and how bad have the problems been?

Thanks again

scott

Order the cam straight from, Comp, Lunati, Checkers has the 204-214 speed pro for alittle over $50.00......... Make sure to get good lifters, GM. IMO, a good spring is the LT1.. 100#. I think Precision sells there cam kits with 120# springs.
Good luck,
Matt

Any1 have any info on the cams for Precision TE. I am ordering a turbo from them so i figured it will be easier getting the cam also from them.
I was thinking about the 206. Will this work well with the PT-54 turbo? What comes with that cam if anyone knows

Anyone using the 206 cam have any good feedback of it. How does it idle and how does it perform at the track and regular street driving.

Thanks for the help....i am hoping this will fix my problem, and with good reguards from you i will place my order on monday or tuesday.

Great cam;) Idle is very smooth, And it makes great power for a bottom 11sec car. (Heck) Geno has busted out some 9sec passes with the 208-208. My best advise when buying a cam is (when in dought stay on the small side).. IMO anything over a 212-212 for your setup will be to much.. I think the 206-206 would be the best choice for your goals.;)
Good luck,

consitering i went 127 on barely ported stock valved heads and can spool a 70 turbo with a 2800 converter i would think you'll would see the light after a while and get away from comp cams.

oh yea at 24# boost and missfireing in high gear from being lean cause my 50# injectors were at 100%

up to you guys.. but i do know how to make power just limited on $

oh yea cant tell there is a cam in my motor and gets 25 mpg on the highway..

and why are you'll so scared of spring pressure on comps cams im running 110# seat pressure and my cam is fine..

Oh,Ya I forgot Red is a Comp lover. You will find out very quick that there are going to be alot of differant ideas on how to make a buick fast, like on what cam is better... Just do your homework before jumping into anything.;)
