Last night I was driving around and noticed my fuel pressure gauge needle was vibrating rapidly...like it was going crazy...it was near (40 psi) under cruise but the needle would just shake like crazy no matter if I went half throttle or just cruising or even slowed down to a stop...what the heck does that mean? It sometimes does this out of the blue and then sometimes it stops and goes back to normal...the gas tank was full btw and it's a hood mounted Kenne Bell fuel gauge

I went through that on the KB hood-mounted gauge twice. It's the VDO gauge itself, (I replaced it twice and each time lasted a year or two). I finally got fed up and replaced it with a cheap SunPro oil pressure gauge, and it's worked perfecly for the past 8 years.

It let's you put the gauge inside the car.

Mine started acting up within the first hour of installation.

nope my gauge is always outside on the hood...the gauge has never done anything like this up until just recently...i've had it for about 2 years now...oh well...i just got back from driving the car again and this time it was ok...guess i will just have to live with it...add it to the list of "things" that the car does sometimes :)

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? The gauge will shake a bit if its clogged. When mine starts to shake, I know it's time to change it. My gauges are Grade A and most of the vendors use non-graded or "B" gauges.

I changed the fuel filter like 2 months ago trying to diagnose another problem I had. So it's new.
