Simple question of what is the largest rim possible?? Oh, by the way, without notching :)

Buddy is "finally" going to get his GN done and bought some of those vette rims....and, of course, he asked "after" the purchase if they will fit. lol

Anyway, I did a search and I've seen guys getting 9.5" wide rims to work, but nothing bigger was tried?

Let me know,

Mark

HUM NO!!!!!!

Theres no way they will fit without aluminum adapters to take up the space betweeen the back of the whhel mating sufaces an the drum an rotor mating surface. See on corvetes , ta's an so forth those kind of cars bring the rotors almost all the way out the body lines. so that why they do not have deep offset wheels, with a fat lip on the wheel" so to say. An g-body well they sit it more so you need a wheel with more offset so the tires wheels an tires will come out from the mating surface. They would fit but you will need some 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 spacers that will bolt to your original mating surface an then the wheel will bolt to the spacer!!!!!!

Ok....I figured he'd have to run the spacer since his last rims needed the same thing. I should have said that in the first post, but thanks for the catch anyway....it's a good point. :)

However, I'm more curious about the overall width of the wheel well versus the width of the rim...regardless of how we offset this thing, is there enough room to do it....or, if known, what is the width of the inner fender to the outer lip (if that correlates to what kind of rim width we can run...I dunno).

....sure, a trial will be the ultimate answer, but I'm just trying to get answers before the fact since it might be another month.

Thanks again,

Mark

I know Mr. BRUCE on the board has the vette wheels on his GN. You could e mail him and ask him what size and where he got them. I say you could run a 10 inch wheel with no problem 10.5 maybe, just give it a shot and let us know.

Yes

Yes it can be done!!!!!! Take a ruler an lay it against the mating surface an from there take a level so to makesure of a accurate measurement an measure the distance between the two.... I know a 10" wheel with 4 1/2 BS comes to about 2" inside of the inside fender lip, with rest of the space there being taken up with tire sidewall.. So yes I think it can be done, especially with a low profile tire with it not having hardly any tire buldge. I run 315/35/18's on my ZO6 10.5 wheels an they look sweet. Not sure if you want to try this since my wheel wells are obviously diferent on a vettte. But I am sure that 295/35/18's will do nicely on the back with 265/35/18's on front..Hope his suspension is up to par!!!

Stock suspension...for the most part, but not a daily driver. In fact, I don't know how much he'll drive it anyway: full roll cage and those tires = not fun on the street.

I'll pass this on to him and we'll see how this turns out.

Thanks for the input guys,

Mark
