I am building the 4.1 block I have right now and was wondering if the heads can be oringed for the 1000's head gaskets.
I am going with a 8.25:1 compression ration at a 4.000 inch bore. Should be done at the end of June. I can't wait!

You'll probably get more resoponses in the tech area. I think Lee Thompson is the only other one with a 4.1 hotair. I'm also using the 1000s on mine and I've heard water leakage is the main problem. I'm going to chance it and take my ARP bolts to 100lbs and hope it seals. I REALLY don't want a blown gasket with aluminum heads. My dad is using the 1000s on his stage II with success and no 0-rings but the extra bolts probably help. :)

I hope it all works out. If you get yours going before me, I'm real curious how it's going to run. Have you got your pistons yet? I called the machine shop again today and got the exact same story I've gotten for almost 3 months now. "I'm going to call today and see if they're done". Bastards. I guess it's time to go and visit them every lunch hour and everyday after work and bug the hell out of them.

Are you talking about the 1007 gasket? If so, yes, you can cut the groove for these with the 4.000" bore.

Pistons probably got ordered today. I brought the block to them Wednesday and they had to sonic check it first. I am going with the custom forged from J&E or Wiseco. I was told a four week wait for them.
