I had ARP make me studs for mine as they were breakin off while the block was sitting waiting to be bored. They cost a bit but no way are they gonna break. You guys use the right stuff gasket maker or just regular silicone? Also I put 3 coats of POR15 engine enamel all around the girdle and block to try and seal it. Hopefully no leaks, I'll find out in the spring.
I ran 650 HP with stock crank and steel caps - no girdle. Did it for two seasons. It did not break- just deceided to go the T/A block. Also- keep in mind Dave Bamford ran 9.5's with a steel crank with billet main caps- without the girdle. Larry
thats what i have heard i belive with all 4 i will be ok w/ a stock 10/10 crank. hopefully it will be ok, it looks as if i would have to but a new bolt kit and the girdle is a bit scuffed up!
