Sometimes on my 86' T-Type it will try to die when slowing down to a stop. The AF reading on the Scanmaster will be all over the place. When this happens I can smell gas like its flooding and I have to keep pumping the accelerator to keep it running. The crazy thing is that I can shake the wiring harness that runs down the drivers side valve cover and it will smooth out and run perfectly for a while! Which wire in this harness would cause this problem? BTW, the maf is good! Thanks, R.B.

Check the IAC #'s on the Scanmaster when the problem occurs. If you're minimum air bleed screw is out of adjustment the IAC might not be in control when you come off the throttle. Incidentally, the IAC wiring does run along the drivers side valve cover also.

My car did that for a while, same thing as you. Turned out to be a bad maf. Could also be the wiring to your maf.
