I ajusted the cam sensor to where gnttype said the car runs alot better but it seams to backfire when in 2nd gear and is a little delayed on throttle respones Ithink tps is bad because it wont go to .46 it will only go to .6 and thats it so I bought a new on for 160.99 from the parts store and waiting for it to come in.

I'm new at all this GN stuff but is there any web sites just for 84 85 gn

thank you

First off I think you paid too much for that part (tps)...most backfires I've seen are because of improper gap of spark plugs, wrong spark plug range, or bad spark plug wires.

The only bad thing is thats the cheep one every where else wanted like 200.00 and up.
I'll know next time not to buy one from Advance Auto Parts.
But if I had an 86 87 GN it was only 32.99 and there not the same parts.
What kind of plugs should I get. I have a set of bosch platnums in it now with a set of accel 9.5 spiral cores

With buying a new TPS you should do what I did, it saves alot of money. Buy one for 86/87 and for 84/85 at different locations. Bring back the 87 where you bought the 84 and say you found another one or just make some excuse. Sure the levers are different between the two but just make sure you talk to some girl or someone who knows nothing about our cars. Its a little risky but saving $100 is worth it.

that's a great idea and will probably do that. but do you think that's my problem or just a starting point?
