car dies @ idle

I have been experiencing a problem with my 86 T-Type quiting at idle when cold after only 10-15 seconds after initial start-up.It seems to only want to do this after it sits for 3-4 days.When it quits it restarts just fine.Not getting any codes either.Has 33,000 miles.Only sensor replaced has been O2.Any ideas

Are you running a stock chip?They arent known for great idling characteristics,especially on cold starts.

no i am running a lubrant chip.

Kevin, have you set you IAC and TPS? Gnttype.org has the procedure if you have not. This at times will cause what you are describing. Also out of curiosity what injectors are you running??

I am running 50's,Haven't checked the settings you described in last 6 months.I'll try that and see.

Mine does the same thing,I don't know why.It runs fine though.

There have been a hell of a lot of posts regarding the way MSD 50's Idle. Does anyone have a cure of any helpful tips to help tune this out?? Would be of much benefit for all!!!

My car has done that from the time I got it in 89. different chips,engine you name it. Just plain finicky.
