Car is popping and miss firing, no power

Coming home from work, car started to miss cylinders ever so offen, then power loose, then popping, sputtering, knocking, pulled over shut it off.

Restarted it, idles good for 5 seconds then starts all the above, again.

Anyone have simular symtoms, and a solution?

Hate to play the replacement game.

Please respond if you have experienced same.

I would start by checking the mass airflow sensor. When mine went bad it almost left me on the side of the road.
First try tapping on it, removing it and if you have a friend with a TR in the area swap it out.
