Car running crappy, hard starting

I have not yet put all the mods listed below on ye, but id like to figure this out before I do to decrease problems., but i took the car outta sortage for good now, and I notice that lately, its giving a hard time to start, but only after it has been run. If I shut it off and say go to start it again after 5 mins, it will sit there and spin. Once and awhile i can smell gas, but usualy no. After 2 or 3 times, it finally starts, and then kicks into a high idle sometimes after that. I have not noticed any black smoke or anythig out of the tailpipes, ao im confused as t what it is.. Could it be the injectors leaking down? It also has a rough idle, but the car has always been like that. If i floor it from a dead stop, sometimes it stalls, and if it doesn't, it'll hesitate for a good 1 second then the engine will statrt going, then half a second later, the turbo starts spooling. So its not good.. Anyone have any suggestions?

a few possibilities

cam sensor adjustment--this comes to mind when you say it's hard to start after it's been running. When I replaced my timing chain, I ended up with the cam sensor set too far advanced. It cold started fine, and ran okay (far from great) but was almost impossible to start after it was warmed up.

Fuel pump and/or filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump sock may be collapsed;

MAF may be on the way out;

Injectors may be really dirty...
