just happened now....second the car hit boost it stalled.....to verify this i did it 3 more times......any ideas?

This could be a lot of things. My car used to do that when I had a bad Mass Air Flow sensor. Did you check the ecm for codes? How does it idle? Does it drive alright without any boost? Just so we could get an idea! Any other info, and we will all do our best to hel you out.

sounds like a bad coilpack/module.if it is you'll want to swap to the later(87/type 2) style.

you should also make sure it's not a sh!tload of knock retard...

later,sean

it idles somewhat rough and i dont have a tach but it sounds like its idling pretty high, also, while it was warming up today it stalled as well?? It already has an 86/7 Coilpack and I have not checked the ECM for codes....i had to jump in my other car and dart to class....Also the car also acts wierd when the throttle is at a certain position....it slightly revs up and down...then i change press or relase the pedal and it smoothes out but this is the first time it ever stalled.

Also, i have no knock gauge as of yet so i dont know about the knock.

possibly your IAC needs cleaning & resetting. My T used to have have dancing idle between 1500-2000rpms. it reminded me of my celica alltrac when it's IAC was bad and it would have dancing idle and was directly related to the IAC. Back to the T, I cleaned out the IAC and reset it...no dancing idle.

More than likely if your IAC needs to be set so does your TPS sensor. Just a thought. My 86 had a very high idle and rough set the tps and it went down to a normal idle. Haven't run the car under boost yet.

check your injectors to make sure they are working properly. Also, check the injector wiring harness. I thought I had a blown something in the engine due to eratic idle and stalling and all sorts of jumk, and upon diagnosis, turned out to be that the injector wiring harness SOMEONE HAD SOLD ME was a PIECE OF CRAP!!!!! It wasn't cool trying to run on 3 or 4 cylinders instead of 6!!!! onc eI got it replaced, perfect idle and no problems with boost. hope that helps...

the stalling has stopped....it was just that once but the car is running VERY rich and idles rough and drives rough...i need a major tune job...unfortunatly i don't know how to do it myself....thanks for your help

time to learn dood.NEVER,EVER take your car to the dealer to have it worked on.if it runs at all after the hack mechanic flogs the piss out of it it'll probably be no better than when you took it in.

has the car been tuned up?any idea what plugs are in it?do you have a scantool?how are the plug wires?

no scan tool...just bought the car so i have no idea if it has been tuned

yesterday i noticed the check engine light on....not all the time tho it would come on then go off then go on...ill run the codes when it stops freakin raining....

also i was going to call some guy about an hour from me that everyone on turbobuicks.com says is the best around....i was planning on waiting until i swapped ECM's and chips but i guess i have no choice right now:(

sound like he has a huge vac leak.. check engine light coming on car stalling for no reason idling like crap..

the guy is someone in Warminster, PA i believe.....but i may give jimm dunn a call because he is a little closer(2 min vs. 1 hr) and i've heard he knows his stuff....

i have found a small exhaust leak on the up-pipe and tightened it up...we'll see if that helped or not...hopefully if we get some nice weather tomorrow ill find that vac leak and straighten everything out...thanks for all the help
