Has anyone's 37 year old original undercoating started to deteriorate and run/ blotch around the area where exhaust pipe runs. I ran over a garbage bag and the residue got wrapped around my exhaust pipe. Once home I raised car to unrivaled garbage bag off pipe,and that's when I noticed grease/ oil blotches near rear U joints. My first thought was a pinion seal leaking, but everything was nice and dry. After looking closely it seem where the exhaust runs alone the floor pan the coating in some areas was melting ? Folks if possible avoid those garbage bags ,the pipe exhaust heat just fried that bag and made a mess ,turned pipe brown where it was wrapped around.
