ok guys this is where my car is at
maybe someone can help me with it

the car has the following gauges connected
boost, knock and air/fuel

it has the following mods

big mouth intake
thrasher 92 chip
thdp and test/dump

my car was working very well but seemed that it was knocking up top

I just installed the power plate because I heard that it distributes air evenly to all cylinders
I was thinking it would help with the knock and get it running smoothly also at this time I re-routed the throttle body coolant hoses so they werent flowing fluid through the throttle body

after the install I turned the car on(after double and triple checking everything)

it seemed like the exhaust note was chimed down a bit
the engine still idled like stock or a little choppier
then a check engine light came on

so I shut the car off
took the negative cable battery off and let it sit
then connected it later
I started the car again with no check engine light
the car seems to run a little smoother at idle
the knock gauge shows all green but the air/fuel shows lean
I drove the car up my driveway to park in the street and it seemed to respond well to acceleration and accelerate very smoothly and cleanly

my problem is I dont want the car to knock anymore or run lean

I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and racetronix pump and hotwire kit on their way

I have 93 octane and a quarte of xylene in the tank

anyone have any ideas about all this?

before anyone says get a scan master
I am installing mine tonight, but have no clue how it works after the install

The Thrasher 92 calls for FP of 45 psi with line off. If you don't have a an adjustable FPR, then this may be why your experiencing a lean condition. You will also need a fuel gauge for setting and montoring fuel pressure. Make sure the TPS and IAC are set properly. An IAC out of adjustment will give you a rough idle condition.

thanks alot man
that actually clears up alot for me
with the line off I dont think its even at 38 or so
so this was a huge help

I will return to the stock chip for now

thanks again

Next time your car throw's a code , It will store it for you to see on SM2. Check engine light went on then off after driving a few miles . I pulled over and SM2 said code 45 (too rich).

And you don't need to go to all the trouble of disconnecting the negative battery cable to clear things. Just unplug the connector their near the battery on the orange wire (12 volt supply for the ECM's memory). Just leave it disconnected for a couple of seconds and it'll be cleared.
