Carbon Fiber Connecting Rods?

We've seen composite pistons and ceramic balls in place of roller lifter rollers, flat tappet lifters with ceramic bases.
Would be interesting in seeing an engine with all the components.

Well, there are carbon ceramic rotors for brakes out there.

Carbon parts inside the engine have a few fatal flaws:

Typical engine oil dissolves them, and the heat dramatically weakens the resin that holds the thing together, causing it to fail.

Carbon ceramic brakes are a completely different kind of material than carbon fiber or forged carbon, and they're far too brittle to survive in a connecting rod application.

We had ceramic brakes rotors on a prototype military vehicle we built and yes really brittle. A few nicks just installing them.
