i noticed that. carfax is only a tool. it's not an exact science. some people put too much faith in carfax. about 2 years ago, i almost bought a 37k mile limited because carfax said so. after calling a friend in the dmv in the state where the car seemed to have been first registered with very low miles in 1991, i foung that it came into that state from a state that didn't report at that time and actually had over 100k miles in 1991. i almost made a 100k mile mistake because i thought carfax was an exact science. i have even had people tell me that because carfax didn't show any accidents, that a vehicle had never been damaged. it would be a badddd mistake to assume that. i have seen numerous cars that have been total lossed and had clean carfax reports, use it as a tool, nothing more and nothing less. hope this has been helpful. thanks.
