I finally got around to giving my car a good stripping, and 3stage polish, glaze and wax. It came out really nice. The problem is I noticed that when it rained that the water beaded up real nice, but left a dirtier looking car when the beads dried, than normal.
I did some reading (Autopia, Properautocare) and found out that Carnauba waxes tend to bead and Polymer sealants tend to sheet water. So, have you guys got any first hand experience with using Polymer sealants?
I have read a bit about Blackfire and "Zaino" but am looking for some alternatives. Please don't shoot me for my ignorance but, "Durashine" claims to sheet water. Any users?

Thanks,
Paul

I've used a lot of different waxes and Zaino is my favorite hands down. Not only does the car look great but the protection propertys of the Zaino is superior to ANYTHING I have ever used.
I know you wanted alternatives bu to me, there aren't any. Why so shy on the Zaino?

Thanks for the reply Zam70
Not shy, just looking for experiences and opinions. :) Before Zaino became the "one", somebody had to step away from their favorite at the time, and try something new.
How do you find the water sheeting action with Zaino? (Geeze, sounds like I'm talking about dish washing detergent.)

Paul

Please, no more posts about Zaino. I know about Zaino  I'm looking for first hand info on different polymer sealants.

Paul, I used Liquid Glass prior to using Zaino. They both looked and smelled the same. I continue to use both since I have 1/2 bottle of each. Will prolly stick with the Liquid Glass since its a bit cheaper. :D

Hey sleeper, just washed the car yesterday, I stand corrected, it did not sheet that well...some but not great.
I personally never worry about it since i dry my car but i just wanted you to know.

Thanks zam70.
I always dry mine as well, it's just when I manage to get caught out when it rains.

Thanks Tim,
Did you notice any difference in the sheeting action, if you get caught in a rain?

Paul

Nothing beats the depth of a carnuba on a black car. Period!
Read more on Autopia and see what people combos were on a black car and most prefer a carnuba on top!
Here's a nice combo for you: Meguires Swirl free polish, then Vanilla Moose, then S100 or P21S carnuba. Again, check Autopia for where you can get these quality products, but you have to find what's best for you.
Good luck

Thanks for your input Boston Boy :)
But if you look in my sig, you will see that I have a hybrid. It's grey. I did learn a lot on the Autopia site, and thats why I'm leaning toward Polymer instead of Carnauba.

DOH!! *smacks self in the head*

Well, I feel like an a$$. LOL
Keep the info in case you get a black car ;)
Polymers last longer and sheetiing is much better. That's what you want from protection, sheeting instead of beading. I've heard some good things about Blackfire and their new line. Use sparingly and it should produce great results. Use too much and it smears. Just what I've read, I have no real world experience with it.

Not a problem Boston boy :)
Believe me, I've had my share of "Homer Simpsons" DOH, Ouch, Doh, ouch, Doh, ouch ;)
Thanks for your input.
