carrier bearings...removal??

Are there any "tricks" to getting the carrier bearings off?? local machine shop tells me they couldn't touch it till monday.

anyone had luck "splitting" the old bearing and pressing a new one on with a socket????

Find another place to it for you,if you're in a hurry.Don't even think about doing it yourself.
