Carrillo rods, how much do they take?

They have been in engines that I know of that have made 1150 RWHP for 3 seasons, not to mention 4 others that are in the 800 RWHP range.

I think it will be hard to get data in writing from Carrillo to tell you they will handle even close to the big HP car listed above.

My 3200# car has gone 8.3s @ 167 for many seasons. This is at 20lbs boost. A couple of years ago I had a waste gate stick closed and It went to 30+ lbs (data only records to 30) for about 330 ft & vented the block. So my guess would be 1250 motor is safe and beyond that is bad.

Thanks guys,

If we say that the hp's is over 1400 then, what rods do you recomend?

Do the manufacturs have them in stock or do we have to do a custom order?

Duttweiler has been using Olivers for a while.

I have a set but will probably not have any data this year.

I am running crower Tit rods now but i'm not sure i would like to push it to 1400. I don't want to vent another block.

Dale,

Have you gone out and ran that thing this year?
It seems that Kibler is the only buick v6 in competition.
I would love to see you make a couple limited street races!

Not yet this year. I 'm changing my front suspension back to stock A-Arms so I will be legal for Limited Street & local Quick 8

That is great news!
Will you be using the Big Stuff or XFI?
Also what is your rear suspension set up?

Ok, and maybe you know if some of Duttweilers engines made something around 1400hp with the rods?

Just looking around to see how things work if we build the engine by our selfs here in Sweden.

Thank you!

1580HP in Ron Luman's engine from what I have heard.
Richie Kibler is running about 1500HP and DLS does his motors.
DLS uses Oliver Rods. You should ask what Bill Anderson runs, his car makes some serious power.

Thank you for your answer John!

Yes, i have seen the movie with Bill slammi'n down a 7.25

Our goals is be around that times here in Sweden, the competion class has 8.10 index.

Today we bought a -89 Trans Am with 25.1d chassie, things will take time but later there will be a stage2 with methanol injection in the car.

Wow your new combination sounds amazing.
Please give us some pictures as you build her.

Yes Sir!

I think we can start a new thread later about the project.

One of my friends is building this car, www.protruck.se please have a look!

He was very happy to hear that one more in our club is going to race with turbo.

He is a clever guy, 3 injectors in each runner, yes.... inside the runners!
Of course methanol injected.

This will be a real nice setup. We went looking at the chassi last weekend. It´s got lots of goodies, but will need a paintjob :)

Now I just have to get rid of my TTA so that we can get down into business :D

And we´ll add pictures, here are some from when we checked it out:
