CD player

got an aftermarket cd player in car. ever since i put it in the battery light comes on when i stop. never did it before. i bought one of those adapter plugs for the car and put it in all nice connections and everything and it sounds great. but there was one wire that didnt connect, id have to take it back out to tell what color it was, io think it was orange or red. The adapter didnt have a spot for it so i made sure it worked and put some electrical tape around it. any ideas

Sounds like you have a coincidental problem. If none of the wires are shorting to ground (blown fuse) then you need to check else where.

see if your belt is loose OR possibly the alt is going bad.

If that wire was orange, that is a constant batt power wire and you could have used it to power the constant (memory) lead for the radio
