Changing wheel color...Paint or Powder Coat??

I'm wanting to change the color of the factory alloy wheels on my Avalanche. What works best, paint of powder coating? any special preparation required for either?

All the money's going into the '36 these days and I'm not buying new wheels and tires for the 'Lanche yet!

Paint you can do yourself. Powder coat is much more durable and chip resistant but it'll cost ya.
