Take it with a grain of salt. They put Saab out of business because they wouldn't sell it with the GM technology included in the deal. If they held out on selling Saab, why would they just drop their pants on everything else? I am sure there is some truth here but there is also a definite slant to this video. And that is ok per the 1st amendment.

And since we American's have made it clear that those decision's should have been made differently, what've they got to lose at this point? We buy useless Chinese crap all day long to save a nickel and screw another American out of their livelyhood. We hire illegals to do misc odd jobs to save a nickel. We'll do anything we can to save that nickel. Because the American Way is to be the cheapest cheapskate's we can be, regardless of the cost's to our neighbors, friends and selves in the long run. So China may take over another American Company... You ready to care? You actually ready to spend some more for a tag that reads USA?

I doubt it. You aren't starving yet. And when you are, it'll be too late.

The other day i called my credit card company(chase) to have them approve a charge that my wife made. They did not pay it because there was an error in the acct number or something of the sort. A woman answered with a strong accent. I understood her but barely. Towards the end of the conversation, i asked her where she was located. She answered.......INDIA! WTF!! We keep outsourcing jobs like customer service jobs. What the heck is next?

I needed to buy a new daily driver a few years ago. I tried to buy American; the GM dealer blew me off when I was trying to look at the Malibu's so I said f*** them if they don't want my business. The Fusion is made in Mexico and I am not a big fan of Ford's ergonomics. I ended up picking up a 2010 Hyundai sonata for cheaper than I could get a comparable car. I think the sonata's are assembled in Alabama.

People try to make the argument that the "money" goes offshore. Well sure, the profit does. What's that? 3-5%??? Meanwhile these foreign companies are paying nearly equal(considerring bene's) to UNION wages in domestic assembly plants, with American Workers there and on down the supply chain! Now I don't give a damn who you are, if you're employing 2,000--4,000 + of my countrymen, Plus the associated vendor supplier's, well that's enough to stimulate a local economy! The only thing the foreign Corps don't have to deal with is the pension's that the US Corps agreed to pay. We all know that the US Corps are using that as a Political Tool right now, and there won't be any pension's for anybody younger than a baby boomer. But these foreign Corps are profitable and making local economies grow. So the argument only becomes one of whether you're actually looking for a vehicle which has enough domestic content to make it worth the extra money that supports the union wages which continue to hold non-union wages at a respectable level and keep those local economies served by the 'foreign' competition going in the way they are. If there isn't something made by a domestic company in your market segment which fill's the "Domestic Content" profile, then who can blame you to fill that same 'content' with a foreign branded product made right here in the USA! Companies like Ford are actually planning to bring product BACK to the US from Mexico in coming production years. Domestic Content seems to be catching on...

I don't know about the rest of the states but here in Indiana we have a Toyota, Honda and a Subaru plant but don't make the American brands. I personally would rather employ 300 Americans and make a couple fat cats in Japan rich instead of employing 300 Mexicans and making one American fat cat rich. That is just my opinion though. Everyone else can make their own opinion.

I avoid buying Chinese made products as much as possible. Here is a challenge for you. Try to find a American made garden hose nozzle. It is harder than you think. I haven't found one yet but when I do I will buy it.

I work for United Technologies. They own Sikorsky, Pratt Wittney, Hamilton Sunstrand and soon will acquire Goodrich aerospace. They are notorious for outsourcing anything they can to save a buck. It really pisses me off because the employees want to make a first rate product but the management wants to save money even if it comes at the cost of quality. If you get a chance to fly on a Boeing 787 take comfort in the fact that parts are coming from China, Singapore, India, Israel and many other under developed parts of the world. I hope one day the tide will turn and manufacturing will be IN sourced to America. I'm not holding my breath.
