Have a 98 Regal GS w/225/55/17's. Want to go with 245/45's. Width would be 20mm more, don't know about height difference. Wondering if I would have rubbing problems on inner fender well w/these. Brand of tire I want doesn't make a 225/55. Their General Exclaim UHP performance summer tire.
80.00 ea, which is why I'm getting them.

225/55/17 should nominally be a 26.75" tall tire. The 245/45/17 is nominally only 3/5" shorter than that. Given that the 20mm extra width is spread over both sides, your inside will only move in 2/5". You may need to trim the inside of the wheel lip, which is easy with a Sawsall or cutoff wheel. I had to trim on my 81 Malibu when I went to a 245/50/16. If you do the b-body spindle, big brake and Hotchkis/Global West upper control arm mod you can fit a 245 easily without trimming due to the change in track.
