I would say hoax. GM doesn't think outside the box. Look at the new camaro.

Look at the 2003 50th aniv. corvette. They put a few stickers on it when they had the opportunity to build this.

The car its self is real enough, just not a GM product. It's a one off hot rod built by a well known builder. I just can't remember who at this time. It's been around for quite a few years.
