Here is the deal. Installed new shift kit, GN servo, adjustable pin,
car would start out in first until I stopped and then it would start in second. I figured ban must be tight so out went adjustable pin and in goes old pin and springs with new GN servo piston and cover. The it would not shift out of first. I dropped the valvebody to inspect checkballs and found vb gasket jacked up. I replaced gasket, reinstalled v/b, checked tv cable setting. took it for a spin and the problem is now I HAVE NO SECOND GEAR MANUAL OR AUTO. The converter also continues to try to lock up and while in 2 or 3 unless I kill the switch. I never did that before. I changed the pressure switch and TCC for troulbeshooting and still same thing. Any ideas? I need to get this thing on the road ASAP. I thought of reinstalling adjustable servo pin just to see what happens. For whatever reason something is jacked up. I went fron having 2nd gear to not.

Thanks, Brian:confused:

Maybe the band shifted out of place when you put the new servo in.
Just drop the oil pan and put some air to the little port under the servo and see if the band tightens up on the drum.

servo band

Thanks for the input but I have no air is there another way to check it. I looked at the band after the servo was installed and it seemed loose. It would move in and out, forward and aft but not up and down. That concerns me also. The trans is in the car now and maybe I could just drop the pan and use a screwdrive rto push over the band to properly seat the band with the pin? Chris what else may cause this if this is not the fix which I hope it is that simple. Also bowtie over drives messed up and sent me a tv cable that was 1/2 inch to short so I am going to put the old tci cable bracket and cable on and see what else happens. Thanks again for your help! It is nice to get some help when I feel like I am beating my head against a brick wall and someones customer support is not the best.

Thanks Guys,

Brian

Trouble

Man, you sound like you're having my kinda luck. :(

If there's anything I can do to help, let me know...

band

There is a valve body bolt in line with the servo. Remove the bolt and servo. With a thin screwdriver, go through the servo hole and push the band lug tight around the drum. While holding it tight, I use a long pick to go up through the bolt hole and this will hold the band in place while you remove the screwdriver and install the servo. You will feel the servo hit the pick. Then remove the pick and finish pushing servo in.
