Chrome Issue

I have a chrome doghouse and stock chrome valve covers. I noticed some white stuff between the vains. ( NO YOU CAN'T SNORT IT YA DRUG ADDICTS) .It won't come off. I tried chrome polish, all kinds of cleansers. Its so hard on the surface that I tried to scrape it. Nothing... Any Ideas?

Aluminum is tricky to plate. Call whomever plated it and ask them. It may have not been properly prepped. If it were acid etched...and not neutralized...it may be seeping.
I don't know about show chrome but I have it happen when we plate tooling.

I really don't know who plated them. Last owner didn't mention that. Honestly I didn't even think of that.Seeping though I mean.
