Chrome Stuff

I have a 87 black T that someone removed all the chrome on and made it look like a WE4. I've been thinking of changing it back to what it's suppose to be when I repaint it. It's a very low option car. I know the grille is unique to the 87, is all the other chrome stuff the same? 86-87?

Someone close have all the chrome stuff I'm looking for? I have the black to trade.

I will not just sell the blackout stuff without first getting chrome.

Your car Originally came with the black out package so the black out trim Is Correct!, Look at the codes i'm pretty sure it's there. Judging by the recent code findings the Only thing that was supposed to be chrome were just the bumpers and no one we know stripped them. I personally think you have original WE4/GN bumpers on your car. When Donnie and I re-painted them there was absolutely No signs of any chrome underneath and looked like they were never chromed to begin with. so either they are original WE4/GN bumpers or they were acid stripped the correct way from a chroming company wich I doubt someone would go through.

But I will keep an eye out for you on some real nice chrome bumpers.

No W codes on the car, so that would mean all chrome? Anyway you could go back to the person you bought it from and try to dig up a little history on it? We've beat the what it is/was to death, RPO says chrome, unless the cars history says otherwise.

Yep that means it was originally chrome. Did you run all those codes to know what each one means?

Going back to the Kid who we bought it from is a dead end also. He was just a teenager who's dad bought that car for him. Donnie and I already tried getting more history on it when we had it but they didn't know anything.

I would do Exactly what your doing and go back to what the RPO codes say it is. I will look up those codes and see what each one says.

Already decoded the list:biggrin: I just thought since it would come apart for paint, might as well make it look like it should. A chrome black car looks pretty nice. It will never be original again, so it really doesn't matter. Just thought if someone had this stuff laying around and wanted black out, maybe it would work out.

Sorry, I only have a chrome grille that some numbskull put on my blacked out 87' GN before I bought it. Now I have been trying to find a black grille to replace it with without breaking the bank. Thanks again and good luck.

I talked to Brian at gbody parts and he has some brand new pieces. I'm also putting my car back to chrome. I got new black plastic for the windshield trim at mikes monte . com
