Today when I put my car in drive it sounds like a bucket of marbles clanking together under the car! Took the dust cover off and the torque convertor looks like it's wobbling!! The car won't shift right and won't go into overdrive. The clattering stops when you start moving. Please help guys!! Thanks, R.B.

I'm going to be optimistic on this one and say that you simply have loose converter bolts. Now that your dust cover is off, get your 15mm wrench and cinch those babies down. Might even be a good idea to remove each one, clean them and put some blue thread locking compound on them.

I recently had a 89 Grand prix do exactly the same thing. It turned out to the the flexplate bots comming loose. The flywheel was slamming on the bolts that attach it to the crankshaft flange.

If the engine has been out before, its possible that someone didnt tighten the bolts down properly.

BTW, Just something for you to look at. If the bolts came loose, you should be able to rotate the flywheel back and forth without turning the engine.
