Has anyone figured out a good way to clean them? Mine is in good shape, no tears or anything, just a bit dirty. I dont want to shell out big $ for a new one, and the aftermarket ones look so cheap. If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

I removed mine from the car. Wet it down with hose, not high pressure! Sprayed it with Simple Green & let it soak. Then used an old towel with a soapy bucket of Dawn dish detergent and gentley washed in down, rinsed thoroughly and let it drip dry for several days. I put some rubber hose around coat hangers, so that it wouldn't tear out the holes and suspended it until dry.

Great, thanks Bob. If it's good enough for a GNX, it will do for me :D Did you reuse your clips, or did they break on the way out?

might try a steamer ( the kind for wallpaper removal, etc..) - id think that would be gentle enough but aggressive at the same time...

Luckily, I was able to salvage and re-use the original clips with the embossed part numbers.

Sounds good, I'll try and use a trim panel puller to save them. Not too concerned with having the originals, but why buy new ones if i dont have to...

If anyone ever needs a set of those tabs that hold the hood insulation on we carry them, we sell them in a package with (9) for $10.00. Just give us a call or they will soon be up on our site to purchase there. Just letting you know that we have them available if some of you do break them..

My lord that car is immaculate. Random question for ya...what wax do you use? That car is shining nicely  Also was the tranny cooler stock?

Thanks, I use Turtle Wax Ice. It's great on black, it can be applied to everything: paint, rubber, black trim... everything. It does not leave a white residue. Yes, that's the GNX tranny cooler.

So I gotta ask a new question...you mention "rubber"...so you apply it to your tires?

Bob:

I wonder if you have any "before" pics. The hood pad looks great but I wonder how dirty a GNX hood pad really ever gets? Compared with the GN and T's, I usually find GNX owners rarely drive the cars much less get them dirty.

Not bashing or anything, just curious as I'd like to clean mine up as well...

Sorry, no before pics. My GNX has been driven, it has 48,000 miles so it had some dirt.

I haven't tried it on the tires, but it would probably work. I do use it on the quarter glass rubber and anything else that's in direct contact witht the paint.
