Clicking From Directly under Column

Ok I bought the buick home from the mountains. She pulled tough the whole way, definitely excited about the things to come with this car. As I was driving home two issues;

1 - Fuel guage kept acting up and reading all the way full, is this common?

2 - There was a clicking noise directly under the steering column, seemed to be connected with the speedometer. Is this a common problem with these cars and if so what is the issue?

Fuel gauge thing not too common. Easy to drop the tank and check the sending unit. But talk to others before taking my word for it.

I have replaced my speedo cable to get rid of a bouncy needle. The other clicking you might be hearing is an unlubricated hood bumper up at the firewall. Throw some grease on the bumper, see if that helps.
