Well, I went out testing tonight and I started to get a consistant code 32 after each WOT pass. Got it 3 times in a row. I had that code pop once on me at the TA Nats a few weeks ago. I was hammering on it a few times up there but never had it happen at each thrashing like today.

I was reading gnttype.org on the code, pretty much the same thing the turbolink help said. Is cleaning the thing out ever effective or should I just start calling and order one? The vac lines look good but I did not get real close, the engine was hot. Is there one that it subject to poping off I should check first since it seems the code is set if a switch is not closed based on a vac signal.

Thanks

Change the little filter thats on the back of the EGR. Its inside the little black cap on the back of the unit.

I poped the cap off, but did not get close, like I said it was a little hot and to be honest I had to finish running some grounds on my trailer. You say on the "back" of the unit. Is that toward the firewall/EGR solonoid? I just don't recall seeing a filter, I only recall the vac lines attaching on the back (firewall) side. I also ask because it would not surprise me if I am missing said filter, the last owner seemed to let little things like that fall to the way side. Is it just a foam deal like the boost solonoid?

Thanks,

Brent

It's located to the right of the valve on the driver side valve cover. The vacuum control (black & square) has a plug going into it. Just under the plug is a little plastic cover you can pull off. The filter is right there. Replace it or blow it out real good with compressed air & stick it back in.

It's similiar to the wastegate filter except a little bigger. You can't see it until you snap off the little black cover.

HTH:)

THanks,

Actualy I found it late last night. I got to thinking about it so I made one more trip to the garage. It came out clean, like clean to the point to where the white part of the filter was still almost all white! I blew through it and it seemed to move air just fine. I will hit it with the compressor to be sure. I think I am going to go on and pull the EGR, however. The more I thought about it it occoured to me that I recall pulling the stock DP elbow to find the WG puck about frozen shut with carbon. Years of the last owner running it real rich. When I got my THDP I, at first, thought the WG on it was messed up because it moved so freely!! Anyway I bet the EGR is crudded up in the same way and sticking.

Any tips on cleaning the thing or just wing it? I have a couple of cans of GM top engine cleaner I figure I will run through the thing as well to see what I can do to help it out on the intake side.

Well,

I pulled the EGR and its sol last night. I blew air through the filter in the sol, from the inside out. Did not seem to make a difference as it was real clean to begin with but I did it all the same. The pintle on the EGR was a little dark from carbon but moved freely. I went on and cleaned it out and brushed away all that I could get at. Put a lot of carb cleaner through the pasages to flush out all that I could. Put it back to gether and went thrashing. Not light or code yet!!

Had a similar problem, it was the EGR solenoid...replaced it ($50 part) and haven't had the code since. If you EGR valve moves OK by hand I would suspect the solenoid next.
