Got the usual bolt ons installed,3' postons D.P.,55#Motrons T.T. chip Adj.reg set at 38pds.Pypes exhaust,with a 3"test pipe.
Started throwing a code 34 with a stock MAF/ K&N filter. Tried the usual, tapping it and does'nt seem to stumble but,Idles like crap till you goose the throttle, races and holds 'bout 2200rpm then settles down to 750 and rough.vac drops to @5" but raises to 20 when idling high.I don't have a scanmaster so cant supply #'s,but have set the TPS to specs given in the spring cleaning articles(44-45) as well as any other setting that can be done with a voltmeter.
Also if I try to raise Fuel pressure any higher than 38 hose off, he begins to stumble and chugging black smoke out the pipes.Running a stock pump with no hotwire yet. Also Is the fuel pressure on the gauge supposed to fluctuate?Noticed the needle bounces back and forth while idling.
Still fairly new to all this and could use some tuning advice as to where to start and what to get as far as baseline #'s.When all was stock, ran smooth as silk, now weeelll, thats why I'm asking all this today.Don't wanna start messing with anything till I can get some input from those that may have been there before. Thanks again, many of you have been great help thru other posts.

Another observation, idles fine out of gear, but soon as you drop it in gear sounds like a machine gun and if you start out under light throttle can hear the turbo starting to whine as if it's spooling never did that before but also first time running the 3" D.P.
Once it is rolling starts to bog down and you have to feather the gas.Is this a classic MAF issue?....Anyone?

When I put my DP on it made the turbo ALOT louder.Im having same problem, except I have no codes. It did throw the 34 when I unplugged the MAF,it seemed to run the same, when I plugged it back in it hesitated then ran the same? When cruising at say 25-55 when I let off gas it seems like it cuts out the rpms drop to 800 then up to what ever speed Im at 2000 or so. My scanmaster at idle for the MAF flicks between 4-5? I ordered a NEW micro tec maf from advance(get it tomarow). Maybe my injectors, there 5 yr old and have never been cleaned or flow matched.Im getting the 60# VERY soon.

Just looked online, pretty good price. Please let me know how you make out with it.Waiting for a buddy to let me try his to see if it clears the problem, rather check than waste time and money. Thanks for the insight.

4-6 on the maf at idle is correct. The 'NEW' maf you ordered is a POS that won't work... correctly... trust me.... the maf is not your problem...

No, not a good price... anywhere.... Yes... check with a known good one... stock that is.... not a useless reman from autozone/advance/etc. Guys, these reman mafs DON'T work.... have you guys not done a search on this topic???

Stock pump, no hotwire..... You need to check that your fuel pressure is keeping up with boost. It should go up lb. for lb. for every lb of boost. 38 psi line off, should be 48 psi at 10 psi boost. Tape a gauge to the windshield if you have to. Something's wrong, because eric's chips are setup for 43 psi base fp. It should be too lean at 38, not starting to get too rich. NEED SCAN TOOL NUMBERS!!! Sounds like you may have a vacuum leak somewhere....

ITS NOT REMAN! its NEW. The reman ones are $40 sumpton.

New, reman, whatever..... waste of money. There is NO new or reman unit that works properly.... well..... maybe like 1 out of 6 work 'good enough' if that is ok with you. like I said.... do a search...

Have been reading up on them and yes agree the remans do seem to be garbage, but Badazz mentioned they were new so price for new verses NOS,not bad.Even if it is crap like the rest,it carries a warranty which you can at least bail yourself out for awhile with a replacement, not be out cash if you purchased NOS.
Thats not the issue here but what the heck just an opinion.Perhaps I have a problem raising FP due to the fact that theres another underlying issue?Vacuum leak came to mind ASAP,but with 20" at idle seems different from the last time when the EGR went bad and had 12-15 out of gear, dunno will keep digging and hope that with the swap out with a stock MAF will solve part of if not all the issues.Believe me,scanmaster will be in the future for this guy, would probably make life much easier right now. Thanks to both of you for your thoughts...
