cold air question....big mouth

Not sure if anyone has done this. I was thinking of adding a bend to the bottom of the filter side of the tube for more direct air flow. Bringing down the filter just a bit more and having it face forward instead of downward. Not sure if this makes any difference, has anyone done anything like it?

Thanks Mark, I guess I should have just emailed you directly, I just figured more forced air if fliter was forward facing.
