cometics or RJC's ?

RJCs rock!

As long as you can work with a .028" thick gasket. They quit making the .040" one.

Holymer ,I use it on copper head gaskets works better than silicone, Gettin harder to find, some auto parts stores carry it.

RJC stoped selling the .040 HGs a while ago. I was told that they did'nt crush as well as the .028 HGs. This caused a few of them to leak, and was not acceptable. Switching from a .040 to a .028 HG will raise your static compression a little less than 1/2 a pt I'm told. It's probably not a big deal on most TBs. If anything, it'll be a bit crisper off idle. IMHO, even RJCs discontinued "bad" .040 HG is better then a Cometic HG on a TB car with only 8 head bolts to crush the gasket. But, that's just me:rolleyes: .

Happy spooling

I have been running in the mid to high 10's on stock Head gaskests for the last couple of years and 25psi with no problems

The key is not to detonate.

If you detonate, If your head gasket does not blow something else

will.

Good luck
