If it is at least as strong as the stock long block then that is a great deal. I think the important Q to ask now is whether or not it has the turbo crank or not.

I'm in the market for a shortblock myself, I'm intrigued.

Interesting, it has the oil drain hole, so maybe a company finally did get it right. If someone buys one that knows all the ins and outs and verify's it's not a clunker I would buy one just to have sitting as a spare.

So who's going to be the guinea pig for us? :D

lol

does the link work? it works for me...

I'd be willing to try it out...it's got a 3 year warranty so if it does blow up...I'll just get another!

it probably works for me because I have it saved in my browser cache.....you will have to go to the main site, put in 87 Buick Regal with the turbo v6 and then type in "engine" in the product search...it's the first option that comes up...

Dealing with AutoZone clerks is never fun. Trying to get one to confirm the crank is a turbo crank and the pistons are the correct compression ratio is going to be harder than the science involved for the first moon trip, lol.

But we need someone to do that, and I am not the right guy for the job. I had a hard time not going ballistic on one just the other day because the clerk didn't want to go check their backroom bolt supply. :o

Well I actually work part time at the local Autozone here as I am finishing school...I think I will give this company a call today and ask them for some more details on this motor. If it sounds legit I'll buy it for a backup to my stroker motor being built by Dan. Can't go wrong for under $1800!

thats true and very funny. you will find good employees sometimes, but its very rare.they are usually the managers and dont come out front to actually wait on the customers.no offense don.

Hey I'm not gonna dis-agree with you guys on the intelligence level of most of the employees...but you need to realize something...when you are getting paid between 7-8 bucks an hour, do you really expect them to know as much as you do??? That's just how business is nowadays. Everything is about saving the extra buck, even if it's sacrificing knowledgeable employees with high salaries for monkeys. Gotta look at both sides of the fence. But in defense to myself, I know more than my managers do:tongue:

i agree, the money isnt there for the best people to stay.look at the police for example:eek: .im not getting shoot at for that kind of money.its backwards, let the professional athletes make small$$ for playing a game and lets pay our teachers, officers, etc the big money....

back to the subject, all parts houses need to train on how other cars' parts will fit some cars that are not listed.....

btw, i love autozone and ive even got my rewards card that has paid off over ten times ($200:eek: )

Both my local AutoZones have 1 high speed worker at each location, I seek them out whenever possible.

The one I got sassy with was just a lazy turd. The look on her face when I said, "So you don't have a bolt bin in the back with specialized bolts like the AutoZone I just left 5 minutes ago?" after she said, "all we have is what's on the floor" was priceless. She had that OWNED look on her face, then sighed and go found my bolt.

I knew about the bolt bin courtesy of this site as well, had I not made a thread about not being able to find a bolt I needed at Lowe's I would have never known about it and niether place would have told me about it. :(

lol...there's WAY more stuff behind the counters than people think...oh well I go out of my way to help everyone because I'm a customer in front of the counter as well and I know how it is...when you own a high performance car you almost have to be this way! anyways...I'll see if I can get some more info about this motor...stock compression ratio on these motors is 8:1 correct?

if you just want it to drive around it should be fine .. I installed a few for customers years ago .. they were $1200 then  if ya go to the track I think they were a solid "15" sec car  ohhhh..lifer preload??? unreal  I didn't touch a thing on them so they couldn't void the warranty:eek:
