control arm bushing

I am getting a clunk when I cut the wheels (16"gta's) all the way to the right then the tire seems to rub the inner fender. the upper control arm is only a few years old and the bushing looks good but the car drives like crap, it wanders on the road, more at low speeds.
I did have a problem with the former 2 piece dp. it came apart and was resting on the control arm, only for a short time though. could the bushing still be bad and look good? is there a better way to diagnose this?
