Converter or Transmission issue?

How do you determine between the 2? If I eas onto the throttle when it gets to 0psi it will start to pull some (not like normal though) but if I just nail it, it will rev, make a lotta noise, but not leave like its supposed to.

How can I tell if that is the converter or transmission? I had an issue like this on my race car before and it was the sprag in the converter.

Its a 200r4 w/ Art Carr 3800 stall.

did you try to stall it up in rev and with the shifter in 1st?? this can somewhat help you tell if its something in the forward drum area.
