Would a 3200 stall from say pts 9x11 or an artcarr lockup be too much stall for a pte 44 as my 60 ft times are horrible 2.1 to 2.4 with mt drags

how much boost are you launching with at the line? sounds like with your combo you should be running 28" tall slicks, not 26"

launch that thing with like 15 lbs of boost and i guarantee you will be in the 1.4-1.6's:D

What stall of converter are you working for the times on the 60' you are mentioning? Mark

Mark it is a modified d5 that stalls around 2600 .I can only build about 5 lbs of boost on the line

Shawn, if you could, go to our web site and fill out a spec sheet in the converter section and I will have Bruce give a recommendation. Just from what I see and my limited knowledge, you are not spooling pryor to launch. Mark :D

I have been having the same problem, I have a Q Trim exhaust housing w/ a John Craig upgraded stock unit, I think he said it was a t/a 60. The car pulls like hell once it gets going but no matter what I can't get a 60' lower than 2.0 and thats leaving with 12lbs of boost w/ nitto drags. the car runs 13.20s @ 103mph. I can spool this thing up to 20psi and on the brakes, yeah you read it right, it's got to be a problem with my trans or convertor cause I can't brake stall my other gn more than 8psi before it brake the tires loose. Oh yeah I'm running a 2800 stall d5 convertor.

Boostmaster, not to bust your bubble but, I doubt that's a Q trim exhaust wheel in a 60 series turbo. More than likely it's a P trim. Unless you have some sort of hybrid, you won't find Q trims in anything except 70 series and larger turbos....A 2800 stall behind a 3.8 will not spool a Q trim unless you spray 100 shot at it...HTH

Your right it's a p trim, been acouple of years and I was'nt sure. Anyways have you ever heard of this problem before.

Shawn, I think I would be looking at around a 3G stall myself, or maybe a little looser. Depends on what Bruce thinks. But you should launch very well with that and improve your 60's to a reasonable level. Mark :D
