trans shifts perfect does not slip.but when i take off convertor wants to lock up as soon as i get into second and third.i can touch break and it will unlock.and if i unplug connector on side trans it wont do it.just anoying when i drive slow like through town and slow speed just bogs engine down to much and lugs.i have pitbull chip and i put 30lb injs in it but chip is not burned for 30lbs.also tried a chip maximum overdrive, older chip to see if it changed no it did not.if little rich could that cause it or somthing else.

The control wire to the TCC solenoid is grounded somewhere. Did somebody put a manual lockup switch somewhere in the car? It could be the driver in the computer is shorted. Do you have +12V on pin "F" of the ALDL connector when you turn the key on?

sounds like the tcc solenoid is restricted, very common for a 200r4 remove the solenoid and see if you can blow through it,if not replace it.

i will check to see if i have power on connector first,i should have 12v key on.correct?and if i do then what.

From your discription of the problem you should not have +12V on pin "F" which would verify you have a short to ground somewhere in the wiring.

Well checked for power at under dash connector and with key on I do not have voltage.so do
nt have a short.

That means you do have a short somewhere. I assume you checked it with the trans connector plugged in. Now you have to find out where the short to ground is. Check the wires going down to the trans connector to make sure you didn't pinch it somewhere. You can eliminate the computer by unplugging the computer (disconnect the battery first) connect the battery back up then turn the key on. Check to see if you have any voltage on pin "F" of the ALDL. If you have voltage the problem is the computer. If you don't, then the wiring is shorted to groung somewhere.

Ok disconnected battery and unpluged pcm, rehooked up pcm.check pin f and still no power.tried another pcm still no power at pin f with key on engine off.checked wiring by bellhousing no pinched wires.what nexted

also checked another gn i had and that run fine and it does not have power on f pin also.now i am not sure if thats correct or not .checked it with it running and with koeo.

ok checked this morning and i unplug connector on trans check and i have voltage on purple wire and no voltage on brown and black wire. (pluged in).if i unplug trans connector and jump the brown and black wire to the purple wire i have voltage at f pin.under dash

found my problem, someone had installed a 1 wire tcc solinoid and should be 2 wires.i will change tcc sol and harness.thanks guys for the help

Will you post the part #'s for the correct stuff when you do it? I'm having the exact same problem. I've tried a new computer, but I hate wiring and haven't checked all that yet. I guess I need to pull the pan to check the solenoid.
