i have a coolant leak in the heater coil area, its dripping on the frame and downpipe...anybody had this problem? could it be a cracked hose? help!

how do i get to the heater coil and control valve?

i think i got the same problem, ghavent had time to check. somebody here sent me an email of a pick of were it is. im gonna look for it and foward it to you.:D

thanks for the info and pics
i don't think its leaking around that, i thought that was the boost sensor???
i think its coming from up inside where the plastic fender covers the heater...underneath the sticker that tells about the air
conditioner
this may be vague, but where the arrow points, back up underneath where the pipe from the condenser goes(under the A/C info sticker

Sorry that didn't help. I've not seen anything that similar. Apparently you're indicating you see the evidence under or in the vicinity of the evaporator core. First, are you positive it's a coolant leak (could it be condensation)? If it is coolant, maybe you could manually pressurize the system and be able to see where it's coming from. Leaks can do strange things...originate at one place, "crawl" along something and finally drip at a completely different location. Don't give up. Wish I had the magic answer.....

i searched some old posts and i'm preety sure its the heater core...
thanks for the help:D:D :D

Hoping that wasn't the case since it seemed to show up in the engine compartment rather than inside near the firewall (wet carpet, etc.) and you didn't mention any "fogging" while running the defroster. I still suggest you do all possible diagnostics before tackling the core...pretty nasty job, especially if it turns out not to be the problem. Good luck and please don't forget to let everyone know the details once it's corrected...may help someone down the road.

yeah the windows steam up pretty bad...that what was a dead givaway when i was reading previous post...one thing thats good is it didnt leak in the interior, i guess i just caught it early
i won't be able to get to it till next week though, in the meantime i gotta read up on installation instructions, hopefully i can find some pictures
