Cooling system/engine damage??

I bought a parts car and got it home to find mostly water in the cooling system .I live in the great white north so I am a little concerned.The owner passed away so i have no one to ask if it sat out in the winter like this.I have no water in the oil or oil in the water.I have only had it running for 10 mins or so and it seems fine.I plan on warming it up and pressure testing the cooling system ,where is the most likely area for frozen water to crack the block or headsI want to take the motor out and use the core to build an engine down the road.Thanks in advance

I would think if the freeze plugs are still intact you are probably fine.
