OK first off I dont need no cop bashing......;) I am kind of putting myself out for that though.
I will be graduating in December with my Associates degree in Law Enforcement and will be looking for a job somewhere in the state of Wisconsin. So, I am going to start applying this summer for jobs.........probably just going to throw lots of applications out there.
So, basically I need any advice anyone can give me on getting a job~~Problems you may have ran into~~. I have found some info on the written testing that takes place and I will be ordering that reading material to help with that. Physical testing I am working out and trying to lose some weight......;) Anything and everything I need to know or look out for or questions they may ask me.
I also relieze that the hiring process is based totally on the individual and if they like ya. If anyone wants to PM or email me to ask me more in depth questions that may help me out......feel free too(Let me know in your email about your experience and such:))
I figure if I can ask anything about my car then why not the other passion in my life?

Thanks much, Nick.

Thats funny ,I just heard today how they are so very strict in WI,one guy got a ticket for J walking ,,fine was $15 he tossed it like most of would have, then they sent a collection agency to collect at his home in Chicago ,,$115 at his door...

Word of advise, dont let that big gun get to your head......

Normally I would be taking sh!T about ....ahh never mind.......

:p :p

Everyones got at least one bad story about cops...or a hundred...:D I wont let anything go to my head......thats just not me.

Cool,,and dont let the doughnut go to the belly..:D :D

You can dazzle them with the little known fact that the chalk line around dead bodies originated from cops eating powdered donuts while standing over the bodies. When they moved the bodies the "chalk" outline was there. You are a shoe-in with this "insider" knowledge. :D

I know several people who are in law enforcement and I hope to get into federal law enforcement (U.S Marshals) once I graduate college. The one piece of advice that they all gave me was to be completely honest during questioning. Most of the time after preliminary questioning they will give you a lye detector test. They know that very few people have a crystal clear past but they expect you to be honest and truthful.
Good Luck,
David

The written test was easy as pie, the physical test was a nuisance, but easy, it is the interview that makes all the difference.
They ask really good questions like what is your best quality; what are your three biggest faults/ what would your current boss say is your biggest fault; what is the biggest goal that you currently have; what do you think would be the toughest part of policing for you personally.
You need to have good answers for those questions ready.

I help moderate a message board that deals with law enforcement hiring questions. www.911jobforums.com you should find the answers to most of your questions there. We also have several cops from the state of Wisconsin who frequent the board. Good Luck

Mike

Don't any Omish soap before this test. A lot of the Omish hand made soaps have Lye in them. :D
