Corvette C5 stock wheels fitment

I have the opportunity to purchase a set of stock C5 wheels, 17 front and 18 rear, for a very good price. I have read the spacers I would need for proper fitment are 1.5 front and 2 in the rear. Thats a bit more spacing than I want to try. Anyone done this before? The car will have SSM lowers in the rear and hotchkis uppers in the front with fbody spindels and the 12" brake conversion.
