Played with the GN again this weekend and I am and simply depressed about how it runs...Maybe I just expect to dang much with stock heads and turbo etc.... or maybe it is just not making the power it should for what ever the reason...
Wondering again if the trans is slipping... it has a definite slide into the next gear feeling to it espcially when cold seems a little better after it warms up. I also hear a whine idling in gear that goes away in neutral. Normal driving it seems fine but part throttle shifts felt kinda slushy... once the TC locks it runs fine and at cruise it seems ok...
I cranked the waste gate rod 2.5 turns to see if I could get it to run better and it felt no better if anything it seemed worse.... it was hitting 23-24 psi up from 19-20 psi...
It just moves out smooth barely breaking the tires loose in first gear as the boost kicks in...
I mean I feel this thing should run better... I thought a stock GN would run about what mine is doing and I am pushing it pretty hard I think with 20+ psi, TT chip, new injectors, no cat, K&N filter etc....
I rode my wife to town and heck from a dead stop I don't think it even put her head on the head rest and the stuff the was holding in her lap never shifted either....just smooth ....
Sorry I am just frustrated to the max right now with it.
I don't think a new turbo and intercooler are going to help this turd....
Tuning recap.... 19 to 23 psi.... 48-49 psi fuel line off... TT chip adding +7% fuel in third gear pulling 2 degrees timing to get rid of knock ( tested at 19-20 ) Did not take readings ar 23 tonight....... Car runs smooth and very politely... Id let my grand ma drive it its so docile.......
I just felt that it should be a lot more exciting when you mat it then it is....
The RPMS seem to go to 5200 on shift and then only fall back to about 4300 and just hang.... is this to be expected or is this the tranny slippping and making the car so slow ?
Thanks
Attached is a log from my last test session with the computer hooked up.
