whats the difference between single and dual voice coil and what amp kit would i need for 2 12"s 1000 max power and a 1600 watt amp

single voice coil = 1 voice coil
dual = 2 voice coils.

The main advantage to a dual voice coil woofer is versatility.

If it's a dual 4 ohm, it can be wired either 2 ohm or 8 ohm
if it's dual 2 ohm, it can be wired 1 ohm or 4 ohm.
etc...

combinations of multiple dual voice coil woofers (2 or more) can lead to even more versatility.
